Its not exactly balmy here either, but it is less unbearable than a few weeks ago. And the potholes are blooming meaning the road construction season can't be too far behind. Thanks for stopping by.
Don't talk - or sing - to me about the weather! Easter seems to have fallen at an odd time this year which means that we get an extended weekend no plus the 2 week hiliday in a week or so. But get this, it's been snowing here. Nothing like what you have over there, but with the characteristic British fixation with discussing weather (or writing emails about it!!) its rather newsworthy. Anyway Humbletree, you'll tell already that I'm a bit of a stranger to these pages these days, whatever time I have for social networking being spent on MySpace (but I don't go looking to add particularly wrecklessly). I only just got round to reading the comment you left on one of my recent New York photographs (here's me thinking that nobody is looking!) so I thought I'd drop you a line and take a listen to whtever you've been cooking up. And still it hits the spot! I don't know if I've said it before but what i love about listening to you - in the way that I do - is the exquisite 'sense of time and place' you got going on there. I take your point totally about boy meets girl type lyrics; there seems to be a few people whose advancing years is reflected in their lyrics (Becker/ Fagin Tom Waits for instance) but I haven't even thought about writing lyrics for I don't know how long. I'm no fan of cold weather and winter but I feel better about it now.
Good to have you back on Vox, although after checking out your myspace page, I can see you have been quite busy there. I may have to break down and sign up someday, but I don't feel ready to take the plunge yet because my material is nowhere near as polished or professional sounding as yours.
Speaking of the weather, we just got hit again with a spring storm which led to a flurry of snow and picture taking to try to make something positive out of it. Stay in touch and I look forward to seeing more of your New York photos.
